Each year, the Ohio Federation of Soil & Water Districts sponsors an award known as the Cooperator of the Year. This award is given to an individual or farm operation who has shown a commitment to the installation of conservation practices through participation in various cost share programs and who is a staunch supporter of the Soil & Water Office. This year’s award was given to Mark Spangler of Oakwood. Mark works for Cooper Farms and is responsible for the distribution of their livestock manure.
With the recent Small Grains Program that allowed for Manure Application on wheat ground, Mark was a tremendous help in getting us all the required information needed such as manure samples, application records, and weather reports that helped provided much needed information in facilitating the program. Mark also farms in the Oakwood area and has been one of the first producers to come in the office ready to give a new program a try.
Join us in congratulating Mark!
