Location: Full time grant-funded position, subject to a 90 day probationary period. The position will be under the administrative supervision of the Paulding SWCD Board of Supervisors and the day to day supervision of the District Administrator.




Duties / Requirements: The position will include working with producers, developing, preparing and writing Comprehensive Manure Nutrient Management Plans (CNMPs), promoting awareness of Ohio Senate Bill, surveying, field work, laying-out practices, construction checks, design, conservation planning, NRCS Customer Service Toolkit, and participation in the Technician Development Program with ODA-DSWC. The candidate will also receive direction from the District’s Technical Staff in addition to other duties as assigned.




This position is funded under a State Grant Program for the Western Lake Erie Basin (WLEB) through 2020, with possible further extensions.




Applicants should have a background in natural resource management, conservation practices, knowledge, and experience or training in resource management and conservation practices, environmental science and agriculture with a minimum of an Associate’s Degree or an equivalent combination of training and experience.




Self-motivation, organizational skills, take direction from others, oral and written communication skills, and the ability to work with landowners and the general public, provide team leadership and maintain a positive attitude to create and sustain a favorable image of the District while accomplishing the required tasks. The position will require extensive field work and the ability to traverse uneven terrain by foot. A valid Ohio driver’s license and the ability to obtain car insurance will be required.




Computer Requirements: Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Any knowledge in Google Earth, ArcGIS or CAD programs would be helpful.
